Basics
I am reluctant to make my log files available over the Internet. Isn't there are security risk?
All log file transmissions are encrypted, and accessible only if a client submits the correct password. The encryption is strong enough to be unbreakable within a reasonable amount of time.
How much bandwidth is used by web server real-time monitoring?
Web server log file entries are 1-2 orders of magnitude smaller than the web pages themselves. On top of that, the log files are compressed before transmission. In summary, you can expect monitoring traffic to use less than 0.5% of web server bandwidth.
