No Spam Today! Contribution Area

This program connects to the specified IMAP4 mail server, selects and reads the contents of a specified folder. The contents are then exported to an mbox file. As the e-mails are read from the folder you may choose to delete those entries. This program is intended to assist in export ham folders and spam folders from Microsoft Exchange mail servers into the mbox format required by utilities such as SpamAssassin.

This program is was written to work with the IMAP4 RFC-2060 messaging protocol. This should be good news for the non-Exchange users - because it means that IMAP2MBOX should work for any RFC-2060 compliant server.

Uses the Perl Mail::IMAPClient module.

Converts an RFC-822 message (or mbox) containing MS-TNEF attachments (Microsoft's proprietary Transport Neutral Encapsulated Format) into a message (or mbox) with standard MIME-compliant attachments.

Can be used as a NoSpamToday! mail filter, or as a stand-alone tool. Any email(s) containing no ms-tnef MIME attachments are passed through this script untouched.

This program reads the logfile created by No Spam Today! and writes to stdout a summary of the e-mails processed by No Spam Today!. The summary includes the SpamAssassin score, accept/reject and delete status. Also included is an abbreviated subject line. A more detailed comma separated variable file can be produced with the 'csv' option.

This filter searches within zip files attached to an e-mail and checks it's file list's extensions against a blocklist. If a match is found, the filter returns an exit code of 255, allowing NoSpamToday! to reject or redirect the e-mail. This filter is very effective at stopping viruses/trojans as many are sent within zip files. This filter will even stop password-protected zip files if they contain dangerous files. When checking, the filter ignores any trailing period on a file's extension.
