Bytemon System Requirements
Bytemon is available for the Windows platform only (this may change in future versions).
To run the Bytemon data collection service, Windows 2000/XP/2003/2008/Vista/Windows 7 or later is required.
Bytemon system requirements can be summarized as follows:
- Network connection
- Windows 2000/XP or later
- 500 MHz processor or faster
- 256 MB RAM (1 GB and more recommended)
- 10 MB of disk space for installation
- 0.1 MB of disk space per data source
Supported Standards and Protocols
- SNMP V1, 2c and 3
- Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
- Windows Packet Capture Library (WinPcap)

- Custom packet filters
SNMP data source settings
- SNMP device host/port
- OID and optional interface name, support for shifting interface IDs
- Authentication settings: for SNMP versions 1, 2 and 3

- MIB database to retrieve information about OIDs
WMI data source settings
- Authentication settings, including support for remote WMI access
- Predefined WQL queries
- Custom WQL queries
