True Spam Filter Whitelists? [message #1456] Tue, 06 June 2006 20:02

We are currently experiencing problems with loading during busy periods. Under normal operation spamassassin is fine, but we have 100ís of accounts on industry specific mailing lists which send out lots of mails daily.

These mails donít really need to be scanned as they are from a trusted source. But adding the sender(s) to the whitelist does not really help much because spamassassin does not get bypassed.

If you want to whitelist a sender would it not be more efficient to completely bypass spamassassin, or at least have this as an option? Ideally there would be an option to enable and disable a filter based on sender, similar to that for recipients. Is it likely that this feature will get included in a future release?

Any ideas? Is there something I am missing?

Any help appreciated.

At the moment you can restrict filtering only based on the recipient address.

Maybe you can try to change the mailing list subscriptions to deliver to a different mail address, and then exclude this address from spam filtering.
