Spam filter set [message #710] Fri, 08 June 2007 00:25

I had a need for filtering messages by subject. I have been able to successfully create a rule that does what I needed by blocking the offensive messages. The rule was manually created and added to the local.cf file.

However, I wanted to provide a way for the users to create similar rules if necessary without having to understand the syntax and manually editing the file. I added a new spam filter set thinking it might be easily done that way. The only list I was place I had the opportunity to to provide input was a white/black list of sender addressses. In addition, I was not able to find a new cf file.

Is there a wizard or user interface that allows the user to check a box for the condition and then add text to match to create a filter?

When you create a filter set is there a new, separate cf file created? If so, where do I find it.

Thanks for your assistance.

Just create a new, empty file, and make sure its name ends with "cf".
That's all there is to do.

To validate your rules, use SpamAssassin --lint.
