I've just setup NST. If I go into the SMTP Proxy settings, and try to test the settings, I get the error - 501 invaliid email address.

I'm assuming its the redirect email address thats not working, so I've checked the logs of my mailserver and NST has sent '<>' as the email address.

The redirect email address is definately correct - I've even tried clearing it, but it still doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Cheers

A mail server must accept mail from a null address. It is legal SMTP, see
http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2821.html#section-4.1.1.2

Maybe there is a configuration setting for this in your mail server software. You might also consider bringing this issue to the attention of your mail server's vendor.

Perhaps we can change the software to use "postmaster" as the sender address for test messages. This might make your mail server happy, while not breaking things for other servers.
