where is sa\learn db? [message #689] Fri, 16 February 2007 14:46

Hi there,

I train SpamAssassin by mbox file exported from Thunderbird.
It seesm that everything goes very wel. But I don't know, where NST keeps this informatin. If I can copy de db from one server to another one, I don't have to teach all of my NST.
also I want to update from v.2.3.5.2 to v.2.3.5. and I don't know if I have to backup it myself or NST don't over write it. I know that loal.cf and nospamtoday.cf remain the same. I don't have any extra rules. What sould I consider when I update.

I appriciate your help.

thanks

NoSpamToday! stores the SpamAssassin Bayes and auto-whitelist databases in the "db" subfolder. They can be transferred to another NoSpamToday! instance without any problems. NoSpamToday! updates do not affect the "db" subfolder.

I found it! "awl" .
It's just a name, isn't it? I mean, I train it for Blacklist!
and anyway, thanks for your reply.

awl is the auto-whitelist (see http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/AutoWhitelist)
and it is not connected in any way to the Bayes database (contained in the bayes_toks file).

I'm confused!
I train NST for blacklist and whitelist.

sa\sa-learn -C sa\ruleset --showdots --spam --mbox spam.mbox
sa\sa-learn -C sa\ruleset --showdots --ham --mbox whitelist.mbox

all information for both of them, gather to de awl file, you said. I can copy this file to another server, correct?
what does bayes_toks do hier?

I wait for your reply unpationtly!
Thanx

It seems so Wink

Very good, provided that whitelist.mbox only contains ham mails.
sa-learn stores all information in the bayes_toks file of the "db" subfolder.

You cannot manually teach the auto-whitelist (please read http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/AutoWhitelist again).
As said before, the Bayes database information (all tokens, spam+ham) is completely contained in the bayes_toks file of the "db" subfolder.
