Arctor Disk-To-Disk Backup Version 2 Released

We are happy to announce the release of Arctor Version 2, a new and advanced version of our popular Disk-To-Disk backup solution.

Beginning with Version 2 we also offer a freeware edition of Arctor for personal, non-commercial use.

Arctor Disk-To-Disk Backup Version 2 offers a lot of new features and enhancements:

• Complete user interface redesign
• New Statistics, Analysis and Maintenance Features: Transfer Bandwidth, Disk Usage, Selected Files, Archived Files, Orphans, File Size Distribution etc.
• S.M.A.R.T. disk monitoring helps you to detect problems with your hard disks before they get serious
• Advanced scheduling options for individual rules and rule groups:
  Rules can be combined to rule groups with individual scheduling options:
  interval, time-of-day, week day, on request, retry missed schedules
• Advanced Restore Wizard: restore missing/modified files only, preserve read-only file attribute in compression mode
• I/O Bandwidth limiting to conserve network resources
• Commandline Interface to support batch operations
• Support for long file names

Pricing

Prices start at $99.- (EUR 79,-) for a Professional license with unlimited backup rules. The purchase price includes maintenance and support for 12 months after purchase. The software maintenance can be renewed after one year. The renewal discount will be 25% of the current list price of the original license, in effect when the renewal is ordered.

The Arctor Standard license is no longer available for purchase, it is replaced by the Freeware license.

Upgrade Information

• Users of the Standard Edition of Arctor version 1 can simply download and install the new version. The Freeware edition allows up to 5 backup rules. Additionally, you can benefit from all the new features of Arctor Version 2.

• Customers who purchased an Arctor version 1 license on July 1, 2006 or later can query Arctor support (arctorsupport@byteplant.com) to get a free key to upgrade to version 2.

• Customers upgrading from version 1.x to version 2 will receive a 50% discount when purchasing Arctor version 2 before November 30, 2006. From December 1, 2006, the upgrade discount is 25%.

Arctor license keys for version 1 will not work for Arctor version 2.

Continued Support for Arctor Version 1

We offer support for Arctor Version 1 until December 31st, 2006.
